Memorial Day 2010

I've always enjoyed our annual (Sunday before) Memorial Day trip to the cemetery. This year Deano had so much fun he was sleeping on the headstones by the time we were done! We are lucky because both sets of my grandparents, my great grandparents, my great great grandparents and my great, great, great grandmother are all buried in the Provo Cemetery. We took flowers to all of their graves...Deans favorite part was going to ALL of the watering stations to fill up water to wash off the headstones and water flowers (that is why he is so tired). Brielle, Dean & Nana Di are in front of my great, great, great grandmother, Jane James', headstone. She was baptized then left her home in England with her husband and several children. On the trek to Utah she lost her husband and baby. Her husband was buried somewhere along the way and her baby was buried at sea. I have so much admiration and gratitude for my pioneer ancestors, I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been to be a pioneer mother. We have a church breakfast every Memorial Day. This year the Fire Engine was out on a call, so they were unable to come but we did have a bike parade. Deano took this very serious...he is just like his daddy! Brielle wanted to ride her scooter because she is not totally comfortable on her bike (she is the first scooter girl, with the brown shirt). We topped off the day with summer sno!

Day out with Thomas!

We spent an afternoon with Thomas the Train (aka the heber creeper). Asay & Rueckert boys with adorable little GracieCutest girls on the Train!Balloon hats and swords...what more could we ask for?No trip to Heber would be complete without stopping off at The Dairy Keen - home of the train!

Kindergarten Graduate!

Brielle is a Kindergarten Graduate! I can't believe it, where has the time gone? She loved her teacher Mrs Smith, she was so disappointed that the school year was ending! Her class put on an adorable program, complete with "The 3 piggy Opera" which is the cutest kids play I've ever seen! Brielle was the "mother pig" and she had to sing a solo. She did such a great job, we are so proud of our little STAR!Brielle & her best friend Sydney

Weekend Getaway

We took a little 'weekend getaway' to Park city to celebrate the Asay's anniversary. Friday night we headed up with the bike's...the boys had a "BIG" ride planned on Saturday. They spent the entire drive watching their bikes through the sun roof and their shadows on the side of the car...funny how grown men can get so excited about something and spend 45min. talking about "how fast their bikes look." The Asay's have a ''hook up'' so we stayed at the Escala Lodges...which are amazing! We went to dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (which was good but I can think of a million other ways I could spend that $)!After dinner it was time to hit the hot tub! When we first put on the robe's Chris made me switch him because mine was so big on me and his was so small...needless to say, it did not make any difference! How can these two opposites be such good buddies? Saturday morning we slept in (which was wonderful), then Chris and Mackay went on their ride while Britt and I hit the Outlet's. We all had a great time! Then we went back to Provo and picked up the kiddo's from Nana & Bobpa's and drove back to Park City. We went to dinner then took the kid's swimming, they had SO much fun! Late that night Mac & Chris disappeared for their annual trip to walmart (the night before Mother's Day...this is the 3rd year), unfortunately Walmart in Park City closes at 10 pm...so they drove all the way to SLC for flowers, balloons & a DVD! Sunday morning they made a big breakfast before we headed back down the canyon. It was a perfect Mother's Day and a wonderful weekend!

Spring 2010

Spring 2010 has been hot & beautiful one day then cold & snowy the next day...but we've still managed to have LOT's of fun! Brielle learned to ride a bike without training wheels...she picked it up so quick, we're so proud of her! What a good daddy she has too...he ran up and down the street a million times because he did not want her to fall off and get hurt.
We visited the Children's Museum in SLC. Deano LOVED the helicopter--we've been driving by the hospital, at least once a week for 6 months, to check the helo pad...he loves to look at the helicopter. You can imagine how thrilled he was to play in one & pretend he was flying it!
Nat & Ty came to down for a wedding...we had SO much fun with them & can't wait until they come again! I love these two kiddo's so much!

Hogle Zoo

We took a little trip to the zoo last week when the sun was shining (it snowed today & it is almost May)! Brielle & Dean loved all of the animals...however they were a bit disappointed that we did not see any bears or a zebra!
