Last weekend we decided to do something crazy...take a trip without Brielle. We went with our friends, Brittany and Mackay (who were fantastic trip partners!), to Las Vegas. We were only there for 3 days...but it was just enough time to relax a little. I was a little nervous about traveling, considering I was 3 weeks from my due date, but luckily Chris did not have to deliver the baby on I-15 and we had a wonderful trip! We stayed at Ceasers Palace (where they upgraded our rooms to 'mini-suites' just because I was pregnant), they had 3 great pools and we had a great time sitting by the pool sipping our virgin daiquiris! We also did lots of shopping...and when I say lots I am talking about six or more hours a day! The boys were fantastic shoppers, in fact sometimes Brittany and I found ourselves waiting around for them because they were so into it! Food, Food, Food...Vegas is famous for food...we ate at The Cheese Cake Factory three times in three days, obviously we are not very adventurous--but it was great food! We also went to see the Cirque de Soleil Show "O", it was entertaining and we were on the second row, so we saw everything really well...but there were these WEIRD clowns and it was a little to long --we went to the 10:30 show and by the end I was ready to go to sleep! My only complaint about our trip was that it was 110 degrees! Are you kidding me? How do people live in a city that hot? Oh yes, and my other complaint is that my daughter could have cared less that we were gone. She had LOTS of fun with my parents, probably because they catered to her every demand...especially my dad! My mom said that she came home one night to find Brielle on their King size bed with a tray of crackers, cheese, juice etc... watching cartoons! No wonder she loves her Bobpa so much, he takes very good care of her. Our first trip alone since Brielle was born was a HUGE SUCCESS, thanks to my parents taking Brielle and Britt and Mackay being such fun travel friends!

Tiff, did you get a petit pain au chocolat at Lenôtre's in the Paris Hotel? Remember I told you they had real good French pastry there? Where did you go shopping more precisely? Today it's 102°F here in the shade. Lots of love from Jacques and me.
Glad I'm not the only one leaving the kid to go on vacation!!! :)
Next time you're in Vegas call us! We would love to see you guys. I'm glad you had a good time and stayed in the air conditioning. The key to living in Vegas...vacation all summer (and not in Vegas)!
Hi Tiffany! I saw your blog on a link to Sara and Ben's. Your daughter is so cute and it looks like you are doing great! Erica (Johnson) Carruth
We are at http://ruthygirls.blogspot.com
when I come visit you can we recreate that trip? Sounds wonderful!!
So great that you two could get that little excursion in before the little guy comes.
Sounds great. Do you regret eating so much after the fact like I do? I eat sometimes because it is so good and then the heartburn comes and the uncomfortable "I am so stuffed in my insides that I think I am going to burst" feeling. And then I regret it. Blah.....
And I thought WE had problems! Holy cow you two. I knew about the baseboards but I didn't know about the rest. Chris is putting in the baseboards after the carpet is laid right???? I just noticed that the baseboards were taped off in that pic and I wondered why they were if they were going to be ripped out when the carpet comes.
So is everything in your kitchen and living area that soft blue color now? Has Brielle made the switch to the big girl room yet? What color is the baby's room going to be? We are re-doing our boy's room in chocolate brown and white - a cowboy theme. I am excited.
I am glad to hear that things are getting done! So fun for a baby to come home to such a beautiful home! Chris - get crackin' - you only have a week!
woops! Looks like I posted my Vegas comment on this one too. sorry about that. It was meant for your other post as you can see.
