There is a lot of debate over which is best...I was excited to see that my brother in law emailed me this today because my mom told me about it a couple of days ago...
LAIE, Hawaii - Elder M. Russell Ballard urged two hundred graduating students at Brigham Young University-Hawaii Saturday to use the Internet--including blogs and other forms of "new media"--to contribute to a national conversation about The Church of Jesus ChristofLatter-day Saints

What a great idea! Of course strange people can access your blog on the Internet and find things out about you...name, interests etc..but in reality someone could follow you around and find out the same things. Of course you have to protect your self by not giving out your address, birthdays, mentioning you or your spouse are going to be out of town etc... but what a great reason to keep your blog public...missionary work! Maybe if someone that is not LDS, comes across the blog of someone that is-- they will look at it and realize that "Mormons" are pretty normal people...no horns, 1 spouse etc... not to mention, we might have the opportunity to 'converse' with someone about our beliefs. Just something to think about.

I wrote a blog that referred to lds.org and the word of wisdom and I read on my site tracker that a lot of people link themselves to that page after reading that entry. I do think that most of the people that read my blog are LDS but this is great encouragement for us to do missionary work to those who read that are not.
Writing about blessings, baptisms, testimonies, family home evenings - those things are great! Thanks for the suggestion.
i agree. my co-workers love my blog. hmm, maybe i'll unprivatize it...
oops that was linda, not amanda
Great point- votes against going private!!!
okay okay...you got me.
I totally agree! There are so many people out there with misconceptions about mormons, it would be great to change their minds!
