Room in the Inn...

We've almost made it...Christmas is only a couple of days away. Chris helped the kids build this snowman earlier this week. It has been a crazy couple of days...Brielle had her preschool Christmas program on Thursday morning--it started at 10am (at BYU) and of course it was a blizzard outside and I was driving like a madwoman to get there! Brielle was adorable, she did a great job. I did not get any good pictures of the program (hopefully Chris got a couple on the video camera but I don't think I can download them until the entire disk is full...so this one of Brielle and her teacher Mrs. Hellewell will have to do. Brielle started getting sick the night before and she was wiping her nose all over her shirt during the program...I was dying to take her a tissue, but I resisted the urge because I'd have looked like a nut!
The rest of the day was busy and it was 10:30pm before I sat down to start writing my talk for church on Sunday (I also have to accompany someone that is singing for the young women...what a fun Sunday). My topic is 'No room in the Inn--are we making room for Christ in our lives. I was so bummed when they asked me to speak in Sacrament meeting because the last time I spoke I was SO nervous (which is odd for me) and I did not feel like I did a very good job. But now after spending some time studying and preparing, I feel so blessed to have this opportunity and there is not a better topic for me because I often get so busy I forget to step back and enjoy things. You might remember that President Monson's address at the Christmas Fireside was on this same topic and it was such a good talk. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to prepare a talk because it has really made me take a step back and remember what is important. I'm so grateful for my Savior and I hope I can become a little more like Him each day.

"Each of us is an innkeeper who decides if there is room for Jesus." Elder Neal A Maxwell

4 days left to Christmas! What nice photos Tiff! I love your snowman (bonhomme de neige) it looks great! And you do too with Brielle and Dean! It's amazing to see how fast he grows! Yes everyone should HAVE room for Jesus.

I just gave the YW's lesson yesterday on the same topic - Let him In and no room at the Inn. It is always a lot of work but was a great experience for me because it gave me the time to read, ponder, and reflect on what Christmas is really about.
